A mental health charity sharing the same name as the album, Tiny Changes, was launched by the family of Frightened Rabbit’s late lead singer Scott Hutchinson who took his own life last May after battling depression. Hutchinson helped put this compilation of covers together before his passing. A portion of the proceeds from Tiny Changes’ sales will benefit the charity. — Frightened Rabbit (@FRabbits) June 17, 2019 Tiny Changes Tracklist: 01. Biffy Clyro – The Modern Leper 02. Yesterday CHVRCHES issued a statement about their disappointment with Marshmello’s choice to work with musicians Chris Brown and Tyga after the artist released his latest track “Light It Up” featuring the two musicians. CHVRCHES recently collaborated with Marshmello on the smash hit “Here With Me” that was released last month and still doing well on the charts and radio play.
The statement reads: “We are really upset, confused and disappointed by Marshmello’s choice to work with Tyga and Chris Brown. We like and respect Mello as a person but working with people who are predators and abusers enables, excuses and ultimately tacitly endorses that behavior. That is not something we can or will stand behind.” — CHVRCHΞS (@CHVRCHES) April 25, 2019 Later that evening CHVRCHES' lead singer Lauren Mayberry posted a couple examples of the abusive messages she has been receiving since the statement was released. One photo was captioned with, “Angry men on the internet can call me all the names they want. I still think domestic abuse is wrong. Peace out, internet. Tomorrow is a brand-new day.” Sadly, Mayberry is no stranger to online abuse and has confronted it head-on writing an op-ed for The Guardian in 2013 detailing the daily abuse she receives online as a female musician in a male dominated industry. In 2015 she spoke with Channel 4 News in the UK discussing misogynist trolls and followed that up with a heartbreaking letter penned for Lena Dunham’s Lenny Letter about an abusive relationship from her past. The members of CHVRCHES have always been outspoken about social issues and stay true to what they stand for with this powerful statement.
While on tour the members of CHVRCHES stopped by the Moog Sound Lab in Asheville, North Carolina on October 9, 2018 to try out the new the Moog One polyphonic analog synthesizer and utilize it to re-imagine a beautiful live version of “Wonderland” from their third album Love Is Dead. Watch the new arrangement in the video below.
In a conversation with Moog Music lead singer Lauren Mayberry revealed, “This is one of the few songs from the new album that we haven’t played live in any context and we wanted to do something special for the MSL performance. I think this will probably be the only place a live version of “Wonderland” will exist…” CHVRCHES previously re-imagined their hit single “The Mother We Share” off their first album The Bones of What You Believe in the Moog Sound Lab back in 2014.
While the hit new single “Here With Me” by Marshmello and CHVRCHES continues to climb the charts, a new official music video was dropped today. The tearjerker of a video shows the sacrifices of first responders and the impact it has on their families. The video is dedicated to these everyday heroes with a fundraiser supporting the First Responder Support Network.
