After playing over 150 shows on 4 continents during the past 15 months CHVRCHES wrapped up their outstanding tour for their sophomore album Every Open Eye last night at Echostage in Washington D.C. Although we don’t know when we will see them again, fans worldwide on social media shared their cherished memories and sent the band off with many thanks and good wishes. The band returned those same heart felt sentiments to their fans.
“We’re CHVRCHES but we are all little CHVRCHES too.” – Lauren Mayberry “Thanks guys. It’s not goodbye. It’s see you soon.” – Lauren Mayberry
Two nights ago, CHVRCHES played a secret show at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago for Spotify employees. A few handfuls of lucky FANCLVB members including myself also received invites to this special performance. I spoke with several Spotify employees, many of whom were not familiar with the band but based on their reactions throughout and afterwards CHVRCHES picked up quite a few new fans from this evening.
Although the photos from my phone in the gallery above are far from good quality you can still get an idea of the excitement from this show. Thank you again for the invite CHVRCHES. You certainly made my week. Greg Barris’ variety show “Heart Of Darkness” on November 3, 2016 will feature musical guest Lauren Mayberry along with Dave Hill, Seaton Smith, Seth Herzog and a special guest. Although we haven’t yet confirmed in what capacity Lauren will partake at this show we do know that she already has some great stand-up as witnessed by her comedic banter at CHVRCHES shows.
This special edition of Barris’ show subtitled “Laughter in the Darkness” will be hosted at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, November 3rd at 8 PM. This event is 21 and over. Click here to purchase tickets.
CHVRCHES will be reissuing their ever popular single “The Mother We Share” on 12” vinyl due out in select UK record stores next Friday, October 14, 2016. We have dubbed this the mystery vinyl as there has yet to be an official announcement from the band or their record label and when we inquired with the band directly at a recent meet and greet they too were unaware of this reissue at the time.
The original 10” pressing of this single on vinyl is widely considered the most coveted by fans of CHVRCHES so now is your opportunity to pick up a copy of this limited-edition reissue. The reissue includes the track list below. Total pressing numbers are not available at this time. Side A I. The Mother We Share II. The Mother We Share (Blood Diamonds remix) III. The Mother We Share (Kowton Feeling Fragile remix) Side B I. It's Not Right But It's Okay II. Tether (Junior Sanchez remix) |
