Next Wednesday, June 1st TYCI and Glasgow Women’s Library welcome writer and performer Lindy West for an evening of conversation with Kate Bailey of TYCI in celebration of her book Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman in bookstores now. Come out for a delightful evening of reading and discussion from 6-8 PM. Afterwards West will be on hand to sign copies of her book.

Last week CHVRCHES surprised us with an amazing new track called “Warning Call” which will serve as the theme song for the video game Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. Earlier this week CHVRCHES’ sophomore album Every Open Eye along with 19 other great Scottish albums were nominated for the Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award Longlist. Take a look below at this amazing list of nominated albums.
These outstanding works of music from Scottish artists were released between April 2015 and March 2016 and were nominated for the Longlist by a group of 100 nominators. After a four week listening period voting for the Shortlist will begin on June 13th for 72 hours via the SAY Award website. The album with the most public votes will automatically secure a spot on the Shortlist while the other nine spots will be determined from a judging panel and announced on June 16th. On Wednesday, June 29th at Paisley Town Hall the judging panel will unveil their final decision at this ceremony and name The Scottish Album of the Year.
