TYCI have curated a wonderful lineup for Herland at Glasgow Women’s Library this Friday evening, December 16th from 7 PM to 10:30 PM. Enjoy music, art and words from Kathryn Joseph (toy piano/harmonium set), Marth Ffion (acoustic), Sue Tompkins, Gudrun Soley, Salonierre: Kristin Innes and the TYCI DJ’s.

This Saturday, November 12th in Glasgow, TYCI and Platform Glasgow present GIRL GAZE. This day long festival beginning at 3 PM will include live music, performances, film, workshops and more curated for teenage girls but open to all.
TYCI have also announced a new direction for the future stating, “GIRL GAZE will also act as a jumping off point for a new initiative inviting teenage girls to take over TYCI’s activity and produce their own zine, podcast and live event through a series of workshops that will explore music, performance, feminism and more!” Click here for a full list of performers, activities and event updates. Tomorrow evening Thursday, October 27th in celebration of Glasgow’s Black History Month, TYCI in partnership with CRER (Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights) will welcome Sister Outrider aka Claire Heuchan to the Glasgow Women’s Library for a discussion about intersectional feminism and a starting point to collaboratively build an anti-racist feminist manifesto for Glasgow and Scotland. Snacks and tunes from the TYCI DJ’s will also be on hand for all attendees.

The 7th episode of the TYCI Podcast titled, “Free Pride, Stranger Things, and the Suffragettes” is out now! Kate Bailey kicks off the episode with a piece about the Suffragettes, this month’s Trailblazers. Kate and Amanda Stanley announce a new feature on the podcast called, “This Bitch Bites” and also discuss celebrity culture for a new Bitch Better Have My Banter (BBHMB). Out on the road in Gothenburg, Sweden at Way Out West Festival, Lauren Mayberry brings us the latest Tales from Tour. We Got Tickets announced their inaugural INDIE50 earlier this week recognizing the best in the UK’s independent and local music scenes. Among this amazing list of 50 winners is TYCI, a collective run by women co-founded by Lauren Mayberry, Amanda Stanley and Stacey Walton. Some of their contributions to the UK music scene include a blog, live events, podcasts and zines all done by a great group of volunteers.
Congratulations to all the nominees and winners of the We Got Tickets inaugural INDIE50. The 50 winners were chosen by a group of judges from a longlist of public nominations. To celebrate these wonderful people an exhibition at 71a Gallery in Shoreditch is scheduled from September 1-8, 2016 featuring images of each winner along with an accompanying zine. TYCI is headed to Edinburgh tomorrow to collaborate with Hidden Door Festival. This live music event will include performances by Rosie Lowe, Nimmo, HQFU, WOLF and the TYCI DJ’s on the decks.

Next Wednesday, June 1st TYCI and Glasgow Women’s Library welcome writer and performer Lindy West for an evening of conversation with Kate Bailey of TYCI in celebration of her book Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman in bookstores now. Come out for a delightful evening of reading and discussion from 6-8 PM. Afterwards West will be on hand to sign copies of her book.

This coming Tuesday, May 24th TYCI and The Hug and Pint will welcome Mothers and Globelamp to Glasgow. Come out to The Hug and Pint for a night of excellent live music starting at 7 PM.
