CHVRCHES dropped a new original song today called “Warning Call”. Over the past few weeks each band member had hinted about a new project and today it was released. The new track will be featured in the upcoming video game Mirror’s Edge Catalyst due out June 7th in North America and June 9th in Europe.
Lauren Mayberry wrote the lyrics from Faith’s perspective as the lead character of this game. An excerpt from Pitchfork added, “We were honored to be asked to contribute to the soundtrack for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, the band's Iain Cook said in a press release. The sound of CHVRCHES’ music resonates with the minimalist sci-fi dystopia of the Mirror’s Edge world, and we feel that the song complements the drama, emotion and empowering themes of Faith's story.” Listen to the track below and let us know what you think. If you watch enough television you may very well have heard a familiar song in the recent Marc Jacobs commercial. Yes, that song is “The Mother We Share” by CHVRCHES! Adidas recently kicked off a new global campaign called “Here to Create” featuring inspirational females displaying their creative ventures in short 15 to 30 second commercials which will air during popular events. Last night during the Grammys Adidas aired one of those commercials featuring supermodel Karlie Kloss while CHVRCHES’ track “Clearest Blue” played in background. Sadly our favorite musicians were not nominated for a Grammy this year so when the commercial came on many rejoiced via social media included us. In case you missed it you can watch the commercial again in the video above. |
